Dear Friends,

Well, we ushered in the month of July with a performance in front of a huge crowd at Eisenhower Park in celebration of Independence Day (see above photo and click on this YouTube link for a highlight: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cWO-sHuC6bg), and we are delighted to continue our summer concert tour with a mixture of old and new venues.

On Saturday, July 10 (6:30pm), we make our third annual visit to the gorgeous Music Mountain Festival in Falls Village, CT for their Twilight Jazz Series. We look forward to playing again in the acoustically ideal Gordon Hall, plus for those people who like to dance to our music, there is also dancing under the stars on the special dance floor built adjacent to the hall. For all of you fans who live north of Manhattan, I hope you will take this opportunity to come hear us—I promise it will be worth the drive!! On Monday, July 12 (7:30pm), we return to Manhasset, NY to kick off the concert season at the lovely gazebo at the Mary Jane Davies Green on Plandome Road. This is part of the Town of North Hempstead’s great concert series, and while we are hopeful for a clear, cool night, the good news is that there is an indoor location at the Manhasset Public Library in case of bad weather:

Then on Wednesday, July 28 (7:00pm) we return to Manhattan to make our debut at the scenic Carl Schurz Park, at 86th Street and East End Avenue (adjacent to Gracie Mansion, right along the East River) for its terrific Summer Sounds 2010 series. We are delighted to be back to play for our fans in the City, so we hope you will all come out to hear the band (and there is a rain date of Thursday, July 29 if the weather doesn’t cooperate on Wednesday evening). http://www.carlschurzparknyc.org/events.html

We have received lots of great comments already from both old and new fans about this summer’s Themes Like Old Times program, featuring classic theme songs from the greatest Swing Era bands, plus our special 100th Birthday tribute to the legendary Artie Shaw. Plus our two wonderful vocalists, Bobbie Ruth & Jerry Costanzo, will be there to sing the Great American Songbook.

Also, this will be your chance to get your copy of our CD—Live….From New York! —which includes quite a few selections you will hear on our program, plus we will also have available our spiffy black SWINGTIME t-shirts featuring our bandstand logo.

We hope to see you at one or more of these July concerts, plus you can check out our other concerts in August on our website: www.swingtimeny.com. In the meantime, stay cool, drink plenty of water and keep swingin’!

Swingingly yours,
